Yep – I was eating at a bar tonight and in walked Spurrier. I didn’t get to speak to him for obvious reasons but I got close enough to tell him “Good Game Coach” and he smiled, winked at me and tipped his drink. What a FANTASTIC DAY! We won. Clemson lost. Enough said.

Yeah, I know I just said “enough said” but it really isn’t. Memphis isn’t a place I will want to come back to just to visit. It’s dirty and grimey and I’ve never seen so many people hooking the streets and begging for money. And there are homeless people in wheelchairs on about every corner. I wish I could snap my fingers and make life better for them all but I can’t…..Anyway……..I will say though that there are some really good eating places here and some fantastic bars. We waited 2 hours and 15 minutes last night to eat at Rendezvous. OH MY GOD was it ever good! Well worth the wait. And seriously, I don’t think Memphis could fit many more Gamecock fans in this place. It looks like Columbia threw up here with all the Gamecock fans. The showing of support is really more than I can relay but just know the Gamecock nation was in full attendance.

Well, I need to have a night cap and get to bed – I’m on 2am time and will have to get up early to check out of this place and head home. I just was checking in and letting you all know that I’m still alive. I hadn’t updated this place in several days but with Christmas and then leaving town for a 9+ hour drive to Memphis there just wasn’t time to come here. When I get home I’ll change this Christmas template and get things back to normal around here & check in on all my normal reads.

Revival HNT

I used to participate in HNT on a regular basis but quickly got burned out…..for many reasons. Over the last several days I’ve been ruminating over what true sexiness is – and what I believe or consider to be “sexy”. The list above are words that I jotted down that in some way lent themselves in describing sexiness. In contemplating the list I began to validate what I’ve felt all along- that there are no rules, only preferences for what we as individuals find sexy. And sexiness, for me, has less to do with an outward appearance and more to do with personality and confidence. It’s a state of mind. An inner assurance of who you are and security in that knowledge. Sexiness is more than an outward brush of a man – more than meets the naked eye. For me, there needs to be a depth of heart and a personality because intertwined they give substance to the outer core and provide the tools to the longevity of an attraction.

Sexiness is many things, but for me, the most sexy, the most beautiful/handsome people are those with whom I can talk, be open with, share my deepest desires, discuss honestly and share common interests. They are people I can laugh with and develop friendships and relationships with that far surpass any superficialities.

I realize the list above, at first glance, evokes stimulation initially by sight, however, if you can get to my mind, stimilate my thoughts, then I will most definitely find you sexy and those adjectives become even more real than sight ever gave them credit.

Sorry about the drunk post the other night. I seriously have no recollection of typing it. Yesterday when I checked my email haloscan had emailed me with new comments and when I read them I was confused. Why are these people talking about me being drunk? ……I went to my blog and well – there it was – a drunken stupor inspired post by none other than me. Oh well. I did have a good time (from what I remember).

Thankfully, yes. I was a total Daddy’s girl before he passed several years ago, and since his death have become very close with my Mother. I wouldn’t trade our relationship for anything in the world.

Went to work, then to a baby shower – ug!, then over to a friend’s house because she had cooked me dinner.

6 Weird Things

I have been tagged by Sunshine and Bellarosa for the same meme so I guess I better play! I’m not sure what to think about these ladies thinking I must have 6 weird things about me! I’m not weird! haha

This is how it works: Each player of this game starts with the “6 weird things about you”. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. 1. When I pack to go on any trip – whether for business for pleasure – I make a list 2-3 days ahead of time of everything I need to pack. And I do mean everything. I pack by that list and then I take the list with me on the trip. Before checking out of the hotel room I pull out this list and double check to be sure I’m not leaving anything. I have this thing about leaving anything of mine behind.

2. I may have one or two OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) tendencies. I never ever go upstairs to bed at night without checking and rechecking that the door is locked. I know I’ve locked it behind me when I come in the house but still I check. Otherwise I know I’ll get up and come back downstairs to check it again before I can actually go to sleep.

3. I love washing my hands. Several reasons for this — one, I’m obsessive about them being clean and germ free. It really freaks me out to think about all the things we come into contact with during the day. Two, I actually really enjoy feeling warm water run over my hands. I’ve been known to daydream standing at the kitchen sink peering through the window while enjoying the feeling of the water rushing over my hands.

4. I’m an extreme night owl. I almost never go to bed before 1:30 or 2:00 and many nights its even 3 am. I have a fear of missing something if I go to bed early. I haven’t always been like this — only since my father passed. He passed in the middle of the night and I think I corrolate my not wanting to go to bed with a fear of death.

5. Incessant repetitive noises drive me insane. If someone is clicking a pen on and off, tapping their foot, smacking their gum, etc I go nuts. I can’t take it and normally I ask people to stop doing it. One time at the office I asked a male coworker to quit clicking his pen. He clicked that thing 900 times a minute – anyway, he stopped for 2 seconds and started it again. I attempted to ignore it as long as I could……that wasn’t very long. I ended up stomping over to his desk, yanking the pen out of his hand, and throwing it against the wall. I never said a word and retreated to my desk. He never clicked his pen again.

6. I enjoy traveling…..alone. I find it extremely relaxing and its my time to re-evaluate my life, where I am, and truly take in the beauty of the space. I relate it to when a hunter enjoys sitting in the woods, being one with nature and having time to really think. I tend to do the same thing – just while traveling. When you go somewhere alone you really become aware of your surroundings and I think I’m more observant of the beauty that it beholds.

ZZzzzzzzs Coming

I have no freakin’ idea why I am sitting here and not in the bed. I’ve been rubbing my eyes for a couple of hours now and even napped for a few minutes earlier. You know the kind – the head falling hitting the back of the chair and awaking quickly in a “where am I” stupor wondering why I’m indecently clad. I don’ t know why I’m so tired today. I guess with being on vacation last week and having to catch up at the office I’m just running myself ragged. Oh well – this too shall pass……hopefully in a sleep so sound I’ll think I’m Ms. RipVanwinkle when I wake. Ok. So I don’t want to be asleep THAT long but I definitely need some shut eye. And I hear ya already – I’m going to bed in a minute!!

Couple of tidbits for you:

• Named a new server today….kept the naming convention in line with our solar system scheme. It’s name you ask? Uranus. Yeah, I hope this server & software app doesn’t turn out to be a pain in the ass.
• I love my new template – but it killed me to take down my GAMECOCK one, especially since we beat Clemson last Saturday. Oh, have I told you that yet? We beat Clemson, 31-28! (I may gloat for a while, get comfortable.)
• Don’t you just love the countdown ticker up there marking the arrival of Christmas? Yeah, it’s a delicate reminder of how soon it will be here and how many shopping days are left. No pressure people! Get that shopping done!
• Some dude, who will remain nameless, CHUCK, sent me an email today with the subject line “Spurrier just signed a new contract”……………..I was confident in the split second I read it that Spurrier was NOT leaving USC but my heart somewhat stopped anyway…that is, until I opened the email to read the rest of the sentence – “with Cingular and is getting lots of extra minutes.” CHUCK, you are NOT funny! Don’t play with me and my Gamecocks!
• At the torture chamber tonight (read “the grocery store”), the checkout chick put down 3 – count them 1-2-3 $25 gift cards off the little hook there before checking me out and rang them up with MY groceries! When I asked if the lady before me had left them (thinking she got them down for her and the lady had just walked off without them) she said, “No, those were with your groceries” – Um. I’m not blind chick-o. She was trying to get herself some free groceries or gifts for somebody for Christmas!! I SAW HER pick them up and put them there! Assclown. Did she think I wouldn’t notice that the package of chicken, milk, and toilet paper was extremely expensive?
• I have to go to a baby shower this weekend and so totally do NOT want to go. Long story I won’t bore you with – but trust me – this will NOT be the social event of the year. I think I could nickname it the torture chamber.
• Aforementioned baby shower was planned “after the football season” so that everyone could come. Well whoop-de-dooo! For once, I wouldn’t have cared if it had been planned during the season – at least then I would have a viable excuse not to go. Damnit, why couldn’t football season last just a few weeks longer? Did I mention I’ve already been to a baby shower for this same chick? Yeah, I have. How easy can I get out of going to another for her? I’m open to suggestions.
• Remember October 19th – my BIRTHDAY? Yeah, that’s right – it was over a month ago. Well Yay me! I got a late present today from a dear friend at the office! Hey – better late than never. I’ll take a gift ANYTIME!
• If any of you want to send me a late bday present email me – I’ll give you shipping instructions!
• Don’t know yet where Carolina will go for the Bowl game – but who cares. Bowl tickets are bought and paid for and I will be going. Whoo hooo!

Alright, even though I’m more awake now than I was when I began typing this little number, I’m going to bed anyway. It’s before midnight too! Wow. When was the last time I went to bed THIS early….to sleep…???? hehe I must get some rest so I can function at work tomorrow otherwise I’ll be a glittering jewel of ginormous buffunery sitting at my desk attempting to work.
