5 Things….

July 27, 2006

It’s been a few days since I got around to the regular blogs that I read but I tried to catch up on some of them tonight and realized I was tagged a few days ago. Mark from First Time set me up for this one…here goes….

In my purse/wallet:
Car keys, billfold, Bath and Body works “breathe” comfort body cream, fingernail file, business card compact, ipod, powder, lipstick, 2 rings, 6 usb drives of varying sizes, blue tooth earpiece, and cell phone

In my refrigerator:
Mexican dip, diet pepsi, diet coke w/ lime, cheese (several kinds), turkey, chicken pie leftovers

In my closet:
Clothes, Shoes (LOTS of shoes), DVDs, Books

In my car:
CDs, 2 chairs (like you take to baseball games), umbrella, 2 pairs of shoes, and a hard hat (and just so you guys will know why I have the hard hat – my company is building a new office center and due to certain aspects of my job I have to be onsite there a good bit – OSHA requires that we wear the stupid hard hats – makes for a lovely hair day. 100 degree weather, my thick head of hair – sweating underneath a hard hat. Um hmm. Pretty.)

I tag:
I’m suppose to tag 5 people here but I never know who likes to do these things and who doesn’t so if you’d like to play along feel free and let me know in the comments.

It’s Time

July 18, 2006

I’m missing out on something
I don’t know exactly what it (all) is
I just know I’m missing it and I want it.

I want whatever life has to offer
I want to make a difference
To be someone who offers up everything – without fear.

It’s time to make a move
See what happens
Step out in faith
Move forward in hope
And know that it will be alright.

If I never do it I’ll always wonder ‘what if’ in my life and I’ll regret never going after it. It’s time to stand up for me and for what I want out of life. Circumstances are forcing me to dig deep and search within to find that something I’m looking for. I know it’s there and I know there’s more than what I have and who I am today. My biggest fear is getting down a well traveled road of this life and looking back with regrets and heartache. I don’t want to be that person. I don’t want to be someone who never took a chance.

It’s time.

Soul searching and soul cleansing is freeing and rewarding
I’m going to do it
Going to tap into whatever alludes me
Go after it whole heartedly
Relinquish all doubt and fear
Find me
Myself
Get back to the basics
Back to the core
Be all that I am
And more.

The day is here
The hour near

It’s time.

Pet Peeves & BB

July 16, 2006

Just thought I’d share a list of a few of my pet peeves or annoyances. Feel free to add yours in the comment section.

  1. Liars
  2. Cheaters
  3. People who cut in line
  4. People who can’t drive (meaning ones who drive too slow, don’t slow down to turn in the median, ones that leave the turn signal on for miles and miles AFTER they’ve turned, etc)
  5. Coworkers that tap on my door and just stand and stand waiting for me to motion for them to enter my office. If I haven’t looked up from my telephone conversation, or haven’t acknowledged their existence at the door they need to leave. I’m busy.
  6. People who can’t think for themselves
  7. Indecisiveness
  8. Abusers (of people, animals, chemicals)
  9. People who don’t listen. You have ears – USE THEM!
  10. Whistlers, hummers, tapping, pen-clicking, etc
  11. People who don’t bathe!
  12. Ones that use reverse psychology — ask me whatever it is you want to know – I’ll tell you!
  13. Naggers
  14. Nail biters
  15. Two faced people
  16. People who make promises to do something and then don’t do them
  17. Complainers
  18. People who are overdramatic, bring emotions to work
  19. Anyone that doesn’t replace the empty roll of toilet paper
  20. People who don’t say “You’re welcome” when I say “Thank you”
  21. Cashiers in drive thrus who never utter a word to you
  22. People who talk with food in their mouth. I don’t want to see the mush in there – shut up until you swallow!
  23. People who overreact spastically
  24. Gum smackers
  25. Nose sniffers — blow your friggin’ nose for God’s sake!
  26. People who can’t take a joke (especially those that dish them out)
  27. Abusers of the express lane in the grocery store
  28. My neighbors – explanation would be way too long to type here
  29. People who are inefficient
  30. People who stereotype others.

What are your pet peeves?

Confessions!

July 9, 2006

Hello. My name is Southern Sweetheart and I am addicted to Big Brother All Stars.

I haven’t posted since Wednesday primarily because BB premiered Thursday night and since then I’ve either been working, cleaning, or watching BB. That was admission #1.

Second admisson, I’m a live feeder. Shut up. If you’ve read me any length of time you already know I’m a professed voyuer. There’s even a post in my archives about voyuerism so this should be no surprise to you. (Read it here, if you want.)

This is the perfect show for people who enjoy social game play. I’m not referring to “players” like bf/gf crap — with that mess usually one in the pair has no clue they’re being played. Obviously, this is different. Everyone knows BB is a game and therefore all bets are off. Who can you trust, who do you align with, what’s your strategy and how can you mentally work and manipulate people to produce the desired outcome? It’s all about sociology and pyschology and a total mental game.

It doesn’t hurt things either that they load up the house with rock solid eye candy coupled with intellect. To me, intelligence is one of the sexiest qualities a man in my sights can possess & since this is the All Star round of BB you can believe that the players in this house are stacked with both. Even the buxom blonde bombshell, Janelle, is nobody’s fool. She’s gorgeous and knows how to play the game very well — she’s not the typical “dumb blonde” one might normally stereotype her to be. She kicks ass and takes names. She’s a straight up player and I love it. On the male front, there are quite a few that rock the house. Will, who was the winner of BB season 2, he’s playing people like a concert pianist tickles the ivories and only one or two are on to him. Then there’s Jase, laying low but definitely a strong player. And just so I don’t lose the 1 or 2 people still reading this post, I’ll only mention one more……..

KAYSAR.

OMG. I have brain sex with him daily, not to mention ….well, I’ll keep that to myself. *wink wink*. Damn. He’s got that dark hair and eyes, goatee, intellect, MMMmmmm……Can you say YUMMMMM-Meeeeeeee!?!?!?! Sorry folks – he just does it for me……E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.M.N.T.I.M.E! He’s got game and can kick ass and take names with invisible ink. Love it. I hope he wins this damn thing. I tried to put up a pic of him here but blogger sucks ass right now and wouldn’t let me upload anything. If you want to see what he looks like click on his name up there in my post or go here…..

Anyway, just thought I’d confess and fill you guys in on my whereabouts…you know, cause I know you all were wondering. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday – BB comes on TV tonight at 8:00 on CBS – arrggg shoot – they changed it – comes on Tuesday. Oh well, I do have live feed so no big deal! :) I already know what’s suppose to happen anyway. If any of you guys are watching and keeping up withthe show let me know. We’ll be ass clowns together in this thing! HA!

Am I?

July 5, 2006

Is it ever alright to just throw in the towel and call it quits on something?

I’m not a quitter in the normal sense of the word and I despise people who don’t stick things out and see them through. However, recently I’ve been reflecting on some events in my life and I’ve come to the conclusion that sometimes – just maybe – it’s alright to turn and walk away. Start over. Wipe the slate.

Just taking a poll – is it? Is it ever alright to just turn your back, walk briskly away, and never look back? Am I a quitter if I do?

Strawberries Anyone?

July 1, 2006

Strawberries
by David Bennett

Starting from above,
Working slowly down under.
Sliding up the sides
Eating a meal,
fresh cream and syrup.

Round and round, and round again
Grining mischievously
One tongue at play
Firm and hard,
fresh strawberries today.

Anyone like strawberries? I do. Another summer treat.
