Just…..worn……out

September 30, 2005

Nothing really to report.

Still sick.

Was feeling better until yesterday afternoon.

Now I’m coughing my brains out again.

Cough medicine helps a little but makes me lethargic.

Work is kicking my ass.

I’m tired.

Been out of town a lot lately — glad I’ll be home for the weekend.

Looking forward to doing absolutely nothing but watching football on TV the entire time.

It’s been a long week……

This video pretty much summarizes how I feel…..Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend so I can live vicariously through you……I promise to try to be back to my funlovin’ self next week…….

HNT, Installment 6 of ? — WARNING folks – this one is LAME!

September 29, 2005

Hi fellow HNTers! I was going to come up with something really spiffy to post here tonight — but then the batteries in the camera were too dead to even keep the camera on and after scrounging around for more batteries and NOT FINDING any I just decided to post a picture of something I already had. So, you’ve been warned, this is a lame HNT but at least I’m participating right? Right. So…. here’s my HNT picture for the week — my LIPS!!! Come give me a smooch! :) ***MWAOH!**

PHUCK the PHARMACIES! I hate them!

September 28, 2005

So, I went to the doctor yesterday — found out that I have bronchitus and an upper respiratory infection. Since I really couldn’t take a deep breath the dr. made me take this breathing treatment and then gave me a lovely shot in the hip and a nice prescription for an antibiotic and cough medicine. I thought my day was beginning to look up since I knew I was going to start feeling better with the meds — but then I went to the pharmacy. Let me be clear here…. I HATE THE FUCKING PHARMACY!!!!! Since when did they make up this stupid ass rule where you have to “wait” in an imaginary line at the pharmacy behind — NO ONE — for like 30 minutes? And why do pharmacies these days put called in prescriptions in front of people who are actually in the damn store? Here I am, sick as a dog, not feeling well, coughing my brains out, there’s no one else in the store — no one people - absolutely NO ONE — and I wait and wait and wait for what seems like an eternity to get an antiobiotic and a cough medicine filled. There were 3 pharmicists in the there working — and none of them seemed to care that I needed to get the meds and get home. They were busy filling called in prescriptions and who knows what the hell else? I thought that the customer in front of your face in any store was always more important than the ones that weren’t even there yet or were on the damn phone? What has happened in America with our pharmacies that this is no longer the way to operate? It thoroughly pisses me off!!! I hate going to a damn pharmacy — they’re all the same. And you would think they would be nice and sympathetic since they deal with people who are sick — but no, they’re smart asses most of the time…. at the least the ones in this little town I live in. It’s pathetic and annoying and really gripes my ass! And get this folks, this was the SECOND pharmacy I went to — the first one didn’t have the antiobiotic — always happens to me – they have one med but not the other — so I had already stood in the “imaginary” line at the FIRST pharmacy for NOTHING! So, while I’m trying to exhibit some patience in the SECOND pharmacy that has kept me waiting forfuckingever I asked the little chick twirling her ratty-ass hair around her finger while popping her grape flavored bubblegum if she could give me a printout of the meds I’ve purchased from this chain store pharmacy for the year. My FSA account was requesting proof of purchase of a medicine I had bought earlier in the year to substiate a claim and I needed a copy of a receipt to send in with some paperwork — so I thought to myself, “Self, get this bimbo to print you out a copy of the damn receipt while you wait for your prescriptions”. So, she proceeds to look it up in the computer and amazingly enough — finds it! Wah-la! At least one thing is going right — or so I thought— she didn’t know how to print it out — remember - I did call her a bimbo so I was write in my initial summation of her — So, she asks one of the pharmacists how to print my duplicate receipt. Get ready folks — no can do — can’t print the receipt for me. Why not? Because I purchased the medicine at their OTHER FUCKING STORE!!!! What the hell difference does that make? All I needed was to be able to show the name of the prescription, the cost of it, the date I purchased it, and the name of the damn store! But oh hell no, they couldn’t/wouldn’t print it —– EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE FOR ME! You can only imagine how pissed I was at this point. So twirly hair girl offers to call the FIRST pharmacy I went to and ask them to print it out for me and have it ready so I could just pull thru the drive thru once I left the SECOND pharmacy with my prescriptions. All I wanted to do people was get my meds, get my printout and go home and crash on my nice cushiony leather sofa and go to sleep. Why were these people being so assinine? Why? Please tell me? So…after another probably 15 minutes, I finally got the meds at the SECOND pharmacy, paid for them, got in the car, and drove to the FIRST pharmacy again. Ok, from the time twirly haired chick called and requested the printout for me until the time I got to the FIRST store again had to be like — 20-25 minutes. So I pulled through the DT, asked for my printout and —- what? No printout. The pharmacist was on the phone and couldn’t print it out. What?!?!?!? You mean to tell me that the pharmacist – the one who puts the little pills in the bottles is the ONLY FUCKING ONE BEHIND THE COUNTER that knows how to print out a copy of the meds I’ve purchased???? No FUCKING way. Unbelievable. First of all, to think he’s the only one that knows how to print the damn thing is just utterly ridiculous, and second of all, he’s only had 25 minutes to print the damn thing out. Oh yea, excuse me, he DID have to fill about 4 CALLED IN PRESCRIPTIONS before he could printout my piddly request. Nevertheless, I got the printout — and was ill all the way home. Not just ill – like sick — but ill like MAD! Seems to me the pharmacies need to get their priorities back in order — is it just me or is this just insane? Does this shit happen where you people live or am I just being overly sensitive b/c I’m sick? I don’t know — I just know that they royally pissed me off in the process. Anyway, it’s a day later and I am feeling better — I must be to be able to recap all this nonsense for you folks to read. But I just had to get this off my chest…. Dumb ass pharmacies….

Think I’ll go take some cough medicine now… yummy…hydrocodeine — I’ll sleep nice tonight :)

Last Week…..

September 26, 2005

A week in review….

Monday – Tuesday: The new office is up & running! Whooo hoooo! And the only battle injury I have from getting it up is the toe injury I showed in my HNT post last week. I guess that’s pretty good — I’m sure it could have been worse!

Wednesday: Headed to Atlanta for a conference. Went to the Braves game Wednesday night with M. And even though the Braves lost to the Phillies in the 10th inning, we had a great time. We had great seats — 2 rows up from the right field wall — we could see the entire field and with the exception of the idiot chick & dude in front of us constantly yelling to the Philly’s right fielder that “he sucked” and that he should “just say no to steroids” the entire game they were perfect. We laughed and high fived the entire game and made fun of the idiots in front of us…..I even told him about my blog and HNT — not so sure that was a good thing since you can google “HNT” and find Os’s site and all the people that post to it! That said, I’ll post a few of the pictures from the game but will refrain from showing you the pics of us – 1. because I want to remain as anonymous as possible here, and 2 – if he were to find this blog I’m not so sure he’d be “thrilled” to see his picture on the net! haha Although I don’t think he’d really care, but I’ll just play it safe anyway…..

Thursday: Attended the conference all day, then went on a river boat cruise for dinner & to a laser show. The river boat was peaceful and being outside and enjoying the views was nice, but the dinner left much to be desired. It was terrible. Dessert was at the laser show and was much better than dinner had been. The laser show was ok — I had seen it as a child & didn’t really care to see it again but the collegue that was with me had never seen it and so we trotted down to the lawn and plopped ourselves on a blanket to watch it. I can only assume that this is where I got the spider bite I’m sporting on my ankle. Yep, you head heard me, a spider bite — nice, right? Itches like crazy and is ouzing stuff out of it. Yuck. Goes well with my purple toenail on the other foot!

(I’ve tried to upload more pictures here but blogger is not wanting to cooperate so if you want to see the pictures from the riverboat, etc just view them on my Flickr site over there on the right hand sidebar.)

Friday: Went on a “Duck Tour” with the conference. Fun right? It was ok. The one I took in Boston a few years ago was much fore entertaining but again, my collegue had never been on one so we just “had to go” — anyway, there are a few pics from the Duck tour on my Flickr site as well. (And if you’ve never been on a Duck tour, it’s not a tour of Ducks people, it’s a tour on an old World War II amphibious vehicle that shows you the sights from land and water — the vehicle floats. So don’t go looking for duck pictures over there! haha)

Saturday: Whoooo hooooooo!!!! Carolina beat Troy State 45-20!!!! Yes, I know, Troy State isn’t THAT great of a team anyway, but we did look pretty good and we played hard. We appeared to have a little heart out there & when there’s heart in a game it’s always a better game. The bad part is that our QB has a high ankle sprain and isn’t expected to play next week. That sure does put a lot of pressure on the shoulders of a freshman QB that has never started a college football game in his life for next week. Antonia Heffner will most likely have to start against Auburn at Auburn! This should be a “good” game… Stay tuned next week for my ranting! Sure, I’m optimistic, but I’m also a realist….we’ll just have to wait and see what next Saturday holds for Carolina.

As for being sick, I’m still under the weather, and I think even moreso today than I have been — I’m planning on a trip to the doctor’s office tomorrow — I hate being sick and this stuff is just getting the best of me. Hopefully he’ll put me on some really good meds that will knock this stuff out and make me feel better.

Well, I’m sure you’re all bored now so I’m going to sign off of here and watch the Giants & Chargers game. Have I mentioned that I LOVE FOOTBALL!?!?!?! Well, I do. Doesn’t matter who’s playing — I just love the sport….oh, yea, and the guys in tight pants aren’t bad on the eyes either! :) (Go Falcons!!! They kicked ass today and beat the Bills, 24-16!!! Whooo hoooo)

Hope you guys start your week off with a great day tomorrow!!!!!! Goodnight….

HNT, Installment 5 of ?

September 22, 2005

Thought I would change things up a bit this week and post a picture of an injury of mine rather than the facial/eye blah blah blah stuff I’ve posted lately on HNT.

A couple of weeks ago I was packing to go on vacation and stumped my 4th & 5th toes on the rollers of my suitcase. I know I had to have broken my little toe because I couldn’t wear enclosed shoes at all — (fine with me since I love to wear sandels anyway) but no kidding folks, I literally could not put on anything and it hurt like a MOTHER for at least 2 weeks. I was finally getting over the uncomfortableness of it this week and beginning to walk normal again when what did I do? Stump it? No. Worse. A switch fell on it – a switch meaning like – a Cisco switch — for those that aren’t techie in nature — it’s a big ass heave piece of equipment used in networking. Not only did it fall on my toes – the bracket on the corner of it that is used to mount it in the rack struck my toe, drew blood, and as you would suspect, I yelled an explicative. A very LOUD explicative. I thought I had just severed my toe from my foot. My toe today has a small place on it where the rack mount part dug into it but what’s worse is the fact that underneath my toenail it looks PURLPE and GROSS. I’m worried that my damn toenail will come off now and that is really upsetting me. I have a foot fettish and can’t stand ugly feet — if my toenail comes off – that will be so incredibly UGLY that I’m not sure what I will do for the rest of sandel wearing weather!!!!!!!! Anyone ever injured a toe and toenail like this? Did it fall off? Did it come back normally? OH MY GOD! If I end up with a F’ed up toenail I will surely die!!! It just can’t happen folks!!!!! …So anyway, without further ado, here’s my nasty toenail — I tried to take a picture that would show the purply color underneath so sorry for the angle….. and Happy HNT everyone!!!!!

A Quickie!!

September 20, 2005

Don’t get all excited about that title — It’s not “THE quickie” but just a quick note to tell you guys that I appreciate all the nice comments about my new design here. Mike & I had a good time working on it and I am very happy with it.

On a separate note, I have been at work since 8am this morning and have just walked into my house tonight at 1am. I’ve been busy bringing up a new location and have been completely swamped Friday and today. By the end of this week I’m sure I’ll be exhausted but I know it will all be worth it. Tomorrow I’ll be at the new location all day, Wednesday I’m off to Atlanta for a conference thru Friday — oh, and I’ll be that Braves game Wednesday night with a total HOTTIE!!! Whooo Hooooo!! I’m REALLY excited at that! :) Then Saturday I’m back in Columbia for the game. Hopefully this week we can beat a different Alabama team, Troy State, but if the same team shows up this coming Saturday that showed up this past Saturday we’ll lose for sure. As for added measure, I’m sick as a dog — some sort of sinus/cold/congestion mess that has given me fits all day — nonstop coughing, sneezing, watering eyes, runny nose, and a hurting chest.

So, enough already with my whining — I’m tired and headed up to take a steaming HOT shower. I’ll try to be here late at night while “on location” but if not, at least you’ll know that I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth.

Take care, have a great week, and if life treats me well I’ll be back tomorrow night…….

The Weekend!

September 19, 2005

OMG – What a terrible game the Gamecocks played yesterday! I’m not going to waste alot of time talking about it – it’s not like what I will say will have any bearing on whether or not they will play better next week. I just wish that they would be consistent. Their lack thereof is what I think is so frustrating to me. I think a lot of our fans were expecting some miracle season since Spurrier is our head coach now, but I’m not one of them. We’re going to have ups & downs for a year or so until Spurrier can get the program where he wants it — hell, he inheritated a lot of the players and ALL of the problems — we have to give him time to get it sorted out and back on track. I don’t expect us to win every game — but I also don’t understand how we can look so good against Georgia one week and look so terrible against Alabama the next week. It baffles me. Consistency folks! Or should I say inconsistency???

As for the day itself yesterday, well, that was a blast win or lose. We tailgated from 10:30 until gametime (3:30) in 98 degree weather — I’m not fluffing that folks — and that temperature doesn’t reflect the heat index or humidity. Suffice it to say – It was HOT! Sweltering hot. I have a nice sunburn to prove it. The food, alcohol, & friends were great and the fact that after the game we watched Clemson lose in OT to Miami was even better! I was hoping that when I got home that I would be able to turn the TV on and watch Tennessee whopping up on Florida, but that didn’t happen either (sorry Chuckeh, I thought about you while watching it) as the Vols lost to the Gators, 16-7. At least Mike’s boys won, just by the skin of the teeth though, 7-6. (Congrats Mike, I know you’re disappointed with how they played but at least your boys are 3-0.)

I hope everyone’s weekend (other than football) was great! Mine sure was. I met up with several guys from Alabama Friday night in Columbia — old friends — and we had a nice dinner and then went out afterwards. I didn’t get in the bed until 4:00am Saturday morning. Yes, you heard me right. 4:00 am. It was well worth it though and I was a very happy girl when I went to sleep…..for several reasons…. hehehe!!! I’ll make you guys wonder about that! :)

On a separate note, I’m sure you’ve already noticed this nice, clean, new look of mine here. Isn’t great?!?! I love the change and I am very happy about the banner at the top. I think it reflects me quite well and if you look really close I’m sure you’ll agree. I cannot thank Mike enough for lending his technical expertise to me. He was willing to work with me and my ever changing wants/desires for the site — always willing to do anything I asked. (Mike, YOU ROCK DUDE in more ways than one! Thanks so much for everything!!!!!)

Hope you all have a great week and I’ll be “seeing” you tomorrow! Oh, and if you like the new look, how about taking time to let me (and Mike) know! :)

TGIF!

September 16, 2005

What a week. Some of you wonderfully faithful people have let me know that it’s past time for me to have a new post up here and well, since I like to keep my readers happy I’m attempting to do just that!

With the exception of my HNT post, I guess I’ve been a little MIA this week — nothing major going on really. I’ve just been swamped at the office after a long vacation and catching up on things has just been a bear. Sorry to have made some of you wonder about me — I guess with my last real post Sunday about the letter “L” I can see why you would do so. Thank you guys for being interested in me and my whereabouts. I no longer feel like an “L”! haha

Now that that’s out of the way, — THE WEEKEND IS FINALLY HERE and you guys know what that means right? FOOTBALL! whooo hoooo! As soon as I get off work today I’ll be heading to Columbia for dinner and relaxation & then tomorrow I’ll be up and out tailgating by 11:00 am & then at 3:30 I’ll be watching the kickoff of the USC vs. Alabama game from the comfort of my wonderful season ticket seat!!! :) This is sure to be a great game. The rivalry between these two teams is pretty hardcore — most Bama fans HATE Carolina and I can say the same as a Carolina fan about them! I never have really understood the whole “Roll Tide Roll” thing and its just annoying. Almost as annoying as the incessant blaring of “Rocky Top” when we play Tennessee — but enough about Tennessee, they’ll get “blog time” here the latter part of October when we play them! :) (Smile ChuckGo VOLS!, I didn’t say I didn’t like Tennessee, just said I hated that damn song!) If you guys are stuck indoors in front of TV tomorrow you can catch the game on CBS.

As for this whole blog itself – look for some changes in the coming days with my design layout/template. I’ve been sort of bored with the one I’m using and felt that I needed to change the template to reflect more of myself. With the help of TechyMike (GO HUSKERS!) and some long nights tinkering it shouldn’t be long before the new look will be up. So – you’ve been warned – get ready for a change… :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a fantastic Saturday! If I’m not too…um…..well….. if I can, I’ll post Saturday night! haha ;)

GO COCKS! Kick some ‘bama butt!

HNT, Installment 4 of ?

September 15, 2005
It’s that day of the week again, you know, the one where we all sit and ponder what the hell we’re going to post for HNT. I’m finding that it’s becoming harder and harder each week to come up with something (and this is only my 4th installment) so I hope you all are enjoying the fruits of my labor. If you aren’t, just humor me anyway and post a sweet comment! :)
Would anyone like to share some whipped cream? I may have some strawberries around here too…..

"L"

September 12, 2005

What does the “L” stand for in your Life? In mine, at this particuLar moment, it stands for Loser! Why, you ask? Because I’ve been a Lazy bum aLL day today. I’ve done nothing but Lounge around in LittLe to nothing and have been onLine most of the day. OnLine reading bLogs, or chatting, or surfing the net. I shouLd have been cLeaning up my house and getting ready for work tomorrow. AfteraLL, I do go back after a week pLus 2 days of vacation (7 work days for those of you who are Lost at that Last comment). I’m sure that work wiLL kick my ass tomorrow — catching up and reading emaiL — weLL, responding to emaiL, I’ve actuaLLy aLready VPNed into the office and read aLL 307 emaiLs I had whiLe I was out. I didn’t repLy to them though so my morning wiLL consist of sending out repLies — and then there’s no teLLing what I’LL get invoLved in. There is a ton of stuff to do so I’m quite certain I wiLL not be sitting idLeLy and twittLing my thumbs. I reaLLy didn’t even get dressed today. I have on a LittLe red mid-thigh number with my hair in a pony taiL and no makeup —- why did I bring this up? WeLL because to show you just how Lazy I was tonight. When I went to get some french fries at the McMurder on the corner (thanks Chad – I Love your reference for McDonaLd’s and think I’LL use it from now on) I didn’t even get dressed. Nope. You heard me. ALL I did was put on some fLip fLops, grab the car keys and out the door I went. Yes, I went to McMurder in a sLeep shirt and fLip fLops — no bra, no panties, no makeup. Now that I think about it, its sorta funny. I’m not sure what possessed me to do such a thing, but I did. It was actuaLLy kind of fun. It was 8:00 pm here when I went so it was dark out — I’m pretty certain no one reaLLy noticed — and even if they did – oh weLL. I don’t reaLLY care.

The “L” couLd aLso stand for LoneLy today too. I don’t normaLLy get down in the dumps but today I have been. For the most part, I enjoy my singLe Life and am quite happy with aLL the freedom I have but today I have been LoneLy and so desparateLy wishing I had a speciaL someone. I hate days Like today — makes me feeL Like such a GIRL! ARGGGGGG!!! Do guys/men ever feeL this way? AdditionaLLy, I was chatting earLier with 2 of my guy bLog buddies (you know who you are) — both of whom are married — and how nice of them to remind me that I’m not “getting any”. The onLy “any” I’m getting is from myseLf and my girL toys — how sad is that?!?!?! And “thanks” guys for the reminder! I appreciated that. If there’s a good point to this, it’s that I know how to pLease myseLf and so I’m certain to be fuLLy satisfied when my pLaytime ends! :) Can aLL you guys’ wives say the same??? hmmm???? hehe — Sorry, I had to ask! :) I’m sure they can…..

AdditionaLLy, I’m soooo bored that whiLe I’ve been typing this siLLy post that probabLy no one wiLL read, I have made sure to CAPITALIZE each “L” and coLor code it! Now that’s bored peopLe!!

I hope that the rest of you peopLe have had a great day — other than today, my weekend has been terrific!!! I’m sure I’LL get out of this “funk” by morning – my girLie moods don’t usuaLLy Last more than a day… So, I’LL be back to my normaL fun seLf tomorrow. Forgive me for just today, ok foLks? Maybe tomorrow I can expLore another Letter of the aLphabet! :)
